NEW DIGS: After 15 years in San Francisco, the headquarters of the National Stuttering Project has relocated to Orange County. An open house will take place Saturday at the new Anaheim Hills office. . . . The nonprofit group, which provides education and support for people who stutter, begins a children’s campaign next year. Says spokeswoman Annie Bradberry, who began stuttering when she was 4: “We want to do what we can for the next generation.”

WAIT AND SEE: UC Irvine’s fertility scandal is the stuff that daytime talk shows dream about. Oprah Winfrey takes her turn with a segment to be taped Wednesday, though her staff declined to say who would be interviewed. Presumably, it’s one or more of the women who claim their eggs were given to someone else without their permission. A Winfrey spokeswoman would not even give an air date: “People will just have to look for Oprah to tell them.”

BIG BITE: Rizzoli Bookstore in South Coast Plaza is expecting a big turnout for a book signing Saturday by Anne Rice, best-selling author of the “Vampire Chronicles” series. How big? You’ll need a ticket. It’s free, but tickets are necessary for crowd control, says Rizzoli manager Lisa Robinson. . . . Rice will only sign copies of her new novel, “Memnoch the Devil,” that have been purchased at the store. But more than 1,000 copies will be on hand. Says Robinson: “It could be the biggest signing we’ve ever had.”

TOURIST BITES: John Wayne Airport officials were sure their California beach culture display would play well with locals, but how about out-of-state travelers? Great, says airport spokeswoman Pat Ware: “This is one of the most popular exhibitions we’ve had.” . . . Called “Cowabunga--California Beach Culture,” the show explains the surf and skateboarding phenomena with an eclectic group of exhibits: Tom Morey’s original boogie board, for example, plus a collection of vintage surfing paraphernalia. . . . It’s on display there through Oct. 29.
