Hicks Wins Speedway Event

Gary Hicks of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program before 3,052 Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano Valley was second, Steve Lucero of Riverside third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.

McConnell also won the eight-lap handicap main with Lucero second, and Oxley third.
