COLLEGE FOOTBALL : Florida Extends Kentucky’s Losing Streak
Fifth-ranked Florida continued what it started for hapless Kentucky.
Florida (2-0) rolled to a 42-7 victory on Saturday night, dealing Kentucky its 12th consecutive loss, dating to a 73-7 whipping from the Gators in the second game of last season.
Kentucky (0-2) now holds the longest losing streak in NCAA Division I-A. Ohio snapped a 12-game losing streak Saturday with a 14-6 victory over Illinois State.
“I’m fully aware of the hollowness of words,” said Kentucky’s Bill Curry, who is winless in nine tries against the Gators as a coach. “It’s probably best to not do a whole lot of talking and do a lot of working.”
Terry Jackson rushed for three touchdowns and Danny Wuerffel completed two scoring passes to Chris Doering as Florida beat Kentucky for the ninth consecutive time.
