Associated Press

This was supposed to be Drew Bledsoe’s year to join the top ranks of NFL quarterbacks. After three games, he’s near the bottom.

The leader of the Patriots’ inept offense was sacked four times, threw three interceptions and suffered one separated shoulder in Sunday’s 28-3 loss at San Francisco.

The NFL’s top draft pick in 1993 has no touchdown passes.

Of the 32 quarterbacks rated in NFL statistics, Bledsoe is 28th.

With 12 days before the next game, Coach Bill Parcells expects Bledsoe’s left shoulder to heal enough for him to play in Atlanta after the bye week.

Jacksonville left tackle Tony Boselli, the second player taken in the April draft, appears certain to return against Green Bay on Sunday. He sat out the entire preseason and first three regular-season games after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
