ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREP EXTRA : Norman’s Returns Lead Ocean View Past Century
Ted Norman returned an interception and a blocked punt for touchdowns to lead Ocean View to a 21-8 nonleague victory over Century on Friday night at Santa Ana Stadium. Norman also rushed for 104 yards in 17 carries and another score as the Seahawks (2-1) won for the second consecutive week.
“I’ve never had everything work like this for me before,” Norman said. “We’ve started a winning streak for this team and we built some confidence tonight.”
Norman’s first score came when he went around the left side for a 12-yard touchdown run with 6 minutes 29 seconds left in the first quarter. Ocean View forced the Centurions (1-2) to punt on the next series, setting up Norman’s second touchdown.
Norman raced in untouched and blocked Jose Serrato’s punt at the Centurion 36-yard line. Norman picked up the ball at the 25 and went up the right sideline for a 14-0 lead with 2:09 left in the first quarter.
Ocean View made it 21-0 with one minute left in the third when Norman picked off Serrato’s fourth-down pass and scored from 30 yards.
