COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Simpson Again Leads Fullerton Victory

Jamie Simpson scored two goals Friday to lead Fullerton to a 4-2 victory over Long Beach in nonconference women’s soccer at Fullerton.

Simpson, the Hornets’ leading scorer, had four goals against Moorpark last week.

Buen Rostro and Amy Shanks scored the other two goals for Fullerton (3-0-3).

In another nonconference game:

Rancho Santiago 2, Cerritos 0--Robyn Camarillo scored both goals in the second half for Rancho Santiago (4-1).

In nonconference men’s soccer:

San Diego Cuyamaca 2, Orange Coast 1--Nick Critti and Steve Palmer scored in the second half for Cuyamaca (3-3). Jeremy Meltebarger scored on a penalty kick in the second half for Orange Coast (1-3).

In nonconference women’s volleyball:

Orange Coast 3, Mt. San Antonio 0--Heather Daze had eight kills and Beri O’Brien seven for Orange Coast (3-1), which won, 15-7, 15-5, 15-3.

Phoenix 3, Cypress 2--Cypress won the first two games, 15-12, 15-2, but dropped the next three, 15-9, 15-8, 15-9. Jessica Stutts had 12 kills to lead Cypress (1-3) and Misty Heller had a match-high 22 for visiting Phoenix (3-5).
