At the Brea Olinda Invitational:
Brea Olinda boys win--Michael Case finished third (17:30) over 3.1 miles at Carbon Canyon Park, leading the Wildcats to the team title.
Teammate Michael Case finished fourth with a time of 17:33.
Garden Grove’s Kalid Ibrahim won the race in 17:22.
At the Stanford Invitational:
El Modena girls win--El Modena won the girls’ Division III event with 81 points, 17 points better than second-place Ojai Nordhoff, the top-ranked team in the Southern Section Division III.
Leslie Burton, who was fifth, was the top individual finisher for El Modena with a time of 19:33 for five kilometers. Kristen Gordon of Concord Carondelet won in 18:22.
Corona del Mar finished sixth overall with Christy Cummins, who placed 13th in 20:09.
In the boys’ event, Corona del Mar finished third with 185 points in the Division III event. Nordhoff won with 60 points. Tyler Beardslee was the top Sea King finisher (18th, 16:48).
El Modena placed fourth with 221 points. Its top finisher was Zach Amos (14th, 16:36).
