Lakers’ Jones Injures Thumb
The Lakers’ Eddie Jones, who was expected to regain his starting job at shooting guard, injured his left thumb at the team’s training camp in Honolulu on Monday night and could be sidelined eight weeks.
Jones will return to Los Angeles today to have the thumb examined by Dr. Stephen Lombardo at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic, team spokesman John Black said.
It is feared that Jones suffered a torn ligament.
