SEASON AT A GLANCE: Koman, an outside hitter, has been at the forefront for Canyon, which has jumped to an early lead in the competitive Foothill League. The Cowboys have won their first seven matches.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Koman had 13 aces and 31 kills to pace Canyon to victories over league rivals Hart and Burroughs. She had 10 aces against Burroughs, helping the Cowboys come from behind to win in five games. “Her serving brought us right back into the match,” Canyon Coach Spencer MacCuish said. “She was very vocal and she led by example too.”
