Palmdale 17, Highland 16--David Alvarez kicked a 25-yard field goal with three minutes left as Palmdale (3-3) rallied in a Golden League opener at Quartz Hill High.

Highland (3-3) led, 16-7, after the first quarter, but Palmdale scored the only points of the second half.

Palmdale’s Jan Brown gained 171 yards in 22 carries, including a 47-yard touchdown run. Grant Livermont completed six of 14 for 75 yards with one interception.
