CITY SECTION ROUNDUP : NORTHERN CONFERENCE

Verdugo Hills 20, Lincoln 0--The Dons (3-2, 4-4) scored three times in the second half to break a scoreless tie and defeat the Tigers (2-5-1, 1-4) at Verdugo Hills.

Miguel Nolasco rushed for a pair of third-quarter touchdowns on runs of 19 and three yards and Alex Trevino caught a 20-yard pass from Ethan Slimak with two minutes to play. The Dons’ defense limited Lincoln to 170 yards of offense to earn its first shutout of the season.

Despite its location, the game was designated as a home contest for the Tigers. The football field at Lincoln has been condemned and the team has played all its games on opponents’ fields.
