Rosary’s Kathleen Celio has made an oral commitment to play women’s soccer next year at Santa Clara, Royals softball Coach Tom Tice said. She had also visited Stanford and Michigan.

Foothill pitcher Marie Gieron signed a letter of intent to play next year at Creighton.
She visited the Omaha, Neb., campus over the weekend; it was her only recruiting visit. She chose Creighton over Oklahoma State, North Carolina, North Carolina Greensboro.
Gieron went 20-3 with a 0.62 earned-run average last year, and was a second-team Times all-county selection.
