PREP SIGNINGS : Marina Catcher Cresse Signs With LSU
Marina catcher Brad Cresse has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at LSU, his father, Mark, said Monday.
Cresse, who played at Los Alamitos last season, was second-team All-Orange County last season. He hit .433 with 11 home runs. He transferred to Marina last summer.

Rosary’s Kathleen Celio has made an oral commitment to play women’s soccer next year at Santa Clara, Royals softball Coach Tom Tice said. She had also visited Stanford and Michigan.
Celio, a midfielder, has not played high school soccer since her freshman year, but established herself as one of the county’s better basketball players, making The Times all-county second team. She also was a second-team All-Golden West League softball player.

Foothill pitcher Marie Gieron signed a letter of intent to play next year at Creighton.
She visited the Omaha, Neb., campus over the weekend; it was her only recruiting visit. She chose Creighton over Oklahoma State, North Carolina, North Carolina Greensboro.
Gieron went 20-3 with a 0.62 earned-run average last year, and was a second-team Times all-county selection.
