TV’s Holiday Stuffing: Parades, Specials : Television: Shirley MacLaine and Liza Minnelli in the original CBS movie ‘West Side Waltz’ go up against Part 3 of ‘Beatles Anthology’ tonight.

Two original network programs will go head-to-head tonight, capping off a Thanksgiving holiday filled with traditional television fare that includes parades, football games, marathons, specials and movies.

“CBS Playhouse 90” presents Shirley MacLaine, Liza Minnelli, Jennifer Grey and Robert Pastorelli in “The West Side Waltz,” a drama based on the Ernest Thompson play about the bonds that unite three New York women in a unique circle of friendship, at 9 p.m. on Channel 2.

ABC counters with the conclusion of the “Beatles Anthology,” the highly promoted six-hour series on the Fab Four. Part 3 looks back at the forming of Apple Corp. Ltd., the filming of “Let It Be,” the recording of “Abbey Road” and the group’s breakup in 1970, at 9 p.m. on Channels 7, 3 and 42.

TV’s Thanksgiving menu also includes:

* Parades: CBS presents the “All-American Thanksgiving Parade,” a festival of highlights of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and ice show from New York; the Santa Claus Parade from Toronto; the Aloha Floral Parade in Honolulu and Disneyland’s “Pocahontas” stage show. The three-hour extravaganza is anchored by Michael Michele (“Central Park West”) and sports broadcaster Jim Nantz, 8 a.m. Channel 2.

Katie Couric and her “Today” show colleagues Willard Scott and Al Roker will host the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade down Fifth Avenue in New York. This year’s event features three new giant helium balloons, including Dudley the Dragon, 9 a.m. on Channels 4 and 36.

* Football: The Detroit Lions play their traditional NFL holiday game, this year against the Minnesota Vikings at 9:30 a.m. on Fox (Channel 11). Before kickoff, country-Western singer Garth Brooks will make a special appearance on “Fox NFL Sunday” at 9 a.m.

Later, the Dallas Cowboys play their third game in 10 days when they meet the hot Kansas City Chiefs at 1 p.m. on NBC (Channels 4 and 36).

In college football, Georgia meets state rival Georgia Tech at 8 a.m. on ABC (Channels 7, 3 and 42) and Baylor plays Texas at 5 p.m. on ESPN.

* Marathons: KTLA-TV Channel 5 offers three hours of “The Brady Bunch,” starting at 9 a.m.

Cable’s Sci-Fi Channel gets “Lost in Space” from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Comedy Central’s “Mystery Science Theatre 3000” broadcasts a 15-hour retrospective featuring first-season episodes that lead to the premiere of a new installment called “Night of the Bloodfeast,” starting at 9 a.m.

* Movies: Roddy McDowall stars in the 1943 heartwarming adventure “Lassie Come Home,” 11:30 a.m. on CBS. . . . Macaulay Culkin outwits Joe Pesci in the 1990 comedy hit “Home Alone,” 9 p.m. on NBC. . . . Wesley Snipes goes to the hoop against Woody Harrelson in “White Men Can’t Jump,” 8 p.m. on Fox.

* Specials: Jimmy Smits hosts the hourlong “Televisions’s Greatest Performances,” featuring memorable moments on TV from Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Steve Martin and Johnny Carson, 8 p.m. on ABC. . . . Reporter Alan Mendelson finds the best bargains in clothes, sporting goods and home accessories in KCAL-TV’s “Best Buys for the Holidays,” 9 p.m. on Channel 9. . . . Charles Kuralt chronicles an eight-month, 12,550-mile journey around the world by seven cyclists, six of whom are disabled on “World Ride: The Possible Dream,” 1:30 p.m. CBS. . . .
