Kennedy High, defending City Section 4-A Division baseball champion, has been invited to the Dole Invitational at Cal State Fullerton in April, 1996, a tournament that attracts some of the best teams in the nation, Golden Cougar Coach Manny Alvarado said.

The tournament was formerly known as the Upper Deck Classic.

Kennedy appears to be one of the top teams in California heading into the 1996 season. Pitchers Derek Morse and Jon Garland, and infielder Aldo Pinto return from last year’s team. They will be joined by three transfers, including All-City outfielder Fernando Centeno from Birmingham.
