La Mirada 17, Norte Vista 7--Jeff Nicolini ran six yards for a touchdown and Tim Hallock caught a 25-yard scoring pass from Damon Cox to lead the Matadores (11-1-1) to their second consecutive Southern Section championship game.
At La Mirada High, Cox completed 11 of 21 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. He also gained 35 rushing yards as La Mirada advanced into the championship game against Temescal Canyon.
