Eisenhower’s Nicole Funn was named MVP of the Corona girls’ basketball tournament. She scored 15 points in the final to help Eisenhower start the season 3-0. . . . Cathedral City’s Rasheed Sharp scored 21 points in the fourth quarter against Corona Centennial as the Lions rallied from a 20-point deficit but lost, 79-78. Sharp made six three-point baskets in the quarter and finished with 33 points, but his last shot, with 13 seconds to play, rimmed out. . . . Beaumont won three games in its own boys’ basketball tournament last week, and that was more than the school has won in any of the previous three seasons. Beaumont was 10-99 in the 1990s before this season.
