Suspect in Shooting Faces Trial
A judge Tuesday ordered a 21-year-old Pacoima man to stand trial for a Thousand Oaks drive-by shooting into a house on San Miguel Street.
Mark Ponto is accused of shooting into the house on Nov. 25 in retaliation for an early shooting across town, investigators said. No one was injured in either shooting.
Acting Municipal Court Judge Burt Henson ordered Ponto to stand trial on a felony count of shooting into an inhabited dwelling. If convicted, he faces a maximum term of three years in prison.
Ponto is scheduled to be arraigned in Ventura County Superior Court on Dec. 26. He is jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.
