Sequoias Dethrones Antelope Valley With 69-65 Victory

VISALIA — Glenn Lyles sank two free throws with eight seconds to play, allowing College of the Sequoias to secure a 69-65 victory Saturday night over Antelope Valley for the championship of the Sequoias tournament.
Antelope Valley (10-5), the defending tournament champion, rallied from a 20-point deficit to close the gap to 67-65.
Jerome Payton, who led the Marauders with 16 points and 10 rebounds, was selected to the all-tournament team.
Taryll Franklin had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Antelope Valley.
Sequoias improved to 7-6.
