Oduok Shows Loyola the Way to Tournament Championship

HONOLULU — Ime Oduok had 18 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night, leading Loyola Marymount to a 75-67 victory over Nevada in the championship game of the Nike Festival.
Mike O’Quinn scored 14 points, Jim Williamson 13 and Tim Kennedy 12 as the Lions improved to 8-1, their best start ever. Brian Green led the Wolf Pack (5-2) with 15 points and Daniel Watts scored 11.
After a close first 12 minutes with six lead changes and four ties, Loyola Marymount used a 15-3 run to take a 37-27 halftime lead.
The Lions were outscored, 24-22, from the floor, but converted 27 of 38 free throws, compared to 11 of 19 for Nevada.
Hawaii beat Creighton, 84-58, in the third-place game.
