COLLEGE BASKETBALL : TONIGHT’S GAMES
* LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (8-1) at LOYOLA OF CHICAGO (2-5)
Time--5 p.m. PST
One Loyola is off to its best start ever and the other is struggling as it did last season. The Lions, 13-15 overall last season, have won seven in a row. The Ramblers finished 5-22 last season and, despite eight new players, are on pace to post a similar record. They have only two players scoring in double figures: center Donyale Bush (13.7 points) and guard Derek Molis (13.3). They certainly figure to have trouble stopping Lion center Ime Oduok and guard Jim Williamson. Oduok scored 34 points to lead Loyola Marymount in the opening game of last week’s Hawaii Nike Festival--an 82-80 victory over Hawaii--and followed that with an 18-point, 11-rebound performance in the championship game against Nevada. Williamson has been making key shots all season, such as the buzzer-beater that gave the Lions the victory over Hawaii.
