TRICK PLAY: The football player formerly known as Ron McKelvey, who left the Texas Longhorns before the Sugar Bowl when it was discovered he apparently had faked his records to play college ball for seven years, was on the 1993 and ’94 roster at Pierce College (C7). . . . Pierce Coach Bill Norton said he was shocked to hear reports that the cornerback he knew as McKelvey was really Ron Weaver, who also had played for Monterey Peninsula College.

MONEY FROM HOME: How about a trip to war-torn Bosnia and a severe cut in pay? That’s what many reservists are facing this year. But today, the Los Angeles City Council is considering a proposal by Joel Wachs to pay the difference between the regular and military salaries of any city worker called to duty. . . .
