In regard to your story “The Many Layers of Tamales and Life,” Dec. 21, you truly were right on target in your description of moving out of the area but going back to the basic tamale. We all relate to stories like that.

I remember corned beef sandwiches at Santa Anita racetrack with Dad on Saturdays. My dad kept me busy by letting me collect losing tickets off the ground and getting me a corned beef sandwich with mustard. Man, that was great. Or, after football games, we went for a Tommy’s burger. Or the whole family would go for crab after the beach. I’ll be looking for more articles.
