Los Amigos Pins Loss on Rancho Alamitos in Final Match

Trailing Rancho Alamitos by two points going into the last match of the dual meet, Richie Pador was able to get a pin late in the second period to give Los Amigos a 40-36 victory over the Vaqueros in Garden Grove League wrestling Tuesday at Los Amigos.
Pador got the fall in the 275-pound match after trailing Alfie Ramos, 12-3. John Colvin put Rancho Alamitos ahead with a pin of Rancho Alamitos’ Agusto Partida in the 215-pound match. The Lobos improved to 9-4, 3-0.
In Academy League boys’ basketball:
Capistrano Valley Christian 59, St. Margaret’s 47--Andrew Jennings scored 12 of his 27 points in the third quarter for the visiting Eagles (10-5, 3-0), who made nine of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Rob Miltner had 18 points and 14 rebounds for St. Margaret’s (4-9, 2-1).
Liberty Christian 62, Fairmont 46--Tim Weddle scored 22 points for host Liberty Christian (6-7, 2-1).
In Express League boys’ basketball
Heritage Christian 90, Huntington Beach Claremont 77--Mario Rosario scored 27 points and Ryan Cronkite added 14 points and 26 rebounds for host Claremont (9-6, 3-4).
In Olympic League boys’ basketball:
Brethren Christian 68, Cerritos Valley Christian 57--Scott Milne scored 15 points for host Brethren Christian (5-10, 2-2), which made 11 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter. Brethren Christian trailed by one at halftime but outscored Valley Christian (7-7, 2-2), 40-28, in the second half.
Calvary Chapel 78, Orange Lutheran 69--Kevin Falconer had 24 points and nine assists and Joe Ortiz added 23 points for visiting Calvary Chapel (15-4, 4-0). Orange Lutheran (6-11, 2-2) lost despite five players scoring in double figures, led by Jason Kemner with 21 points.
Whittier Christian 63, Ontario Christian 53--Brad Smith made five of his eight three-pointers in the fourth quarter as Whittier Christian (5-15, 2-2) rallied from a one-point, third-quarter deficit. Smith finished with 31 points.
In Olympic League boys’ soccer:
Orange Lutheran 6, Capistrano Valley Christian 0--Chad Griswold, with two saves, recorded his seventh shutout of the season for Orange Lutheran (12-3-3, 3-1). Nathan Mercier scored two goals for Orange Lutheran.
