Ice Has Too Much for Ice Dogs, 5-3

INDIANAPOLIS — Mike Prokopec scored twice and had two assists Wednesday night as the Indianapolis Ice defeated the Ice Dogs, 5-3, to extend their losing streak to four games, matching their longest slump of the International Hockey League season.
Los Angeles’ Todd Gillingham and Dave Smith scored goals within 24 seconds at the beginning of the third period to draw the Ice Dogs within 4-3, but Indianapolis goalie Jimmy Waite shut them out the rest of the way.
Ethan Moreau had two goals and an assist for Indianapolis, and Daniel Gauthier added a goal and two assists.
