A second group of developers has proposed building a sports arena on Cal State Northridge’s North Campus property, John Rollow, consultant on real estate for the North Campus Development Corp., said Friday.

Steven Smith and Larry Hricik, who also are considering building a 22,000-seat arena in downtown Los Angeles, proposed a 9,000-seat facility that could be used for Northridge teams, the Ice Dogs and concerts.

Developers have been told that Northridge is interested in splitting the property between retail and athletic facilities, with no housing.
