Golden West Sweeps Irvine Valley
Curtis Jackson had 12 kills as visiting Golden West rolled past Irvine Valley in three games in an Orange Empire Conference men’s volleyball match Wednesday.
Golden West, which won, 15-11, 15-11, 15-6, is 4-0, 3-0 in conference.
Beau Bianchi had 11 kills and Jeremy Beck had six blocks for Irvine Valley (0-2, 0-2).
Golden West, defending state champion, hosts Palomar at 3 p.m. Friday. It was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. but has been switched because of the Golden West women’s basketball playoff game that night.
In another conference match:
San Diego Mesa 3, Orange Coast 2--Kevin Reid had 28 kills for Orange Coast (4-1, 2-1), which lost, 15-10, 9-15, 14-16, 15-7, 15-11.
