Chris Claiborne scored eight of his 25 points and grabbed six of his 12 rebounds in the fourth quarter to lead Riverside North to a 80-66 victory over Woodbridge in a Southern Section II-AA quarterfinal game Friday. Claiborne, the Times’ player of the year in football, is a power forward for J.W. North (21-6), which will play Santa Margarita for the divisional title Saturday at the Pond. . . . Stefanie Schiffern of Norco scored both goals to lead Norco to a 2-1 overtime victory over Hemet in the Southern Section Division III playoff game last week. With Hemet leading, 1-0, Schiffern scored on a header off a corner kick to tie the score three minutes into the second half. In overtime, she scored from 20 yards out. Norco plays Canyon Springs in the final at Gahr High Saturday at 6 p.m. . . .Charles Jones, a senior, became the first wrestler from Rialto High to qualify for the state meet by finishing seventh in the 189-pound division at the Masters Meet Saturday. Rialto opened in 1992.
