Fresno Finishes Off the Big Ten
Dominick Young scored 21 points for Fresno State (20-10), which sent the last Big Ten team, Michigan State, out of the postseason, 80-70, in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament on Tuesday night at Fresno.
“I thought our team could carry the banner for the Big Ten,” Coach Tom Izzo said of Michigan State (16-16).

With Tom Wald scoring six points in the final 49 seconds, Nebraska (18-14) defeated Washington State (17-12), 82-73, at Lincoln. . . . Tyson Wheeler made a three-point basket in overtime for Rhode Island (20-12) in a 62-58 victory over Charleston (25-4). . . . Mark Bass scored 21 points for St. Joseph’s (17-12) in an 82-62 victory at Providence.
