NFL Trying to Get Seahawks to Go Home
The NFL tried to convince the Seahawks in daylong negotiations Wednesday to leave behind their Rams Park practice facility and return to Seattle and open discussions with King County officials on the funding for a new football stadium.
An NFL spokesman said David Behring, Seahawk president, is still scheduled to meet with Commissioner Paul Tagliabue in New York on Friday, but if further talks today result in the Seahawks returning to Seattle, that meeting will be unnecessary. Tagliabue has the power to fine the Seahawks up to $500,000 if he finds their move to Anaheim constitutes conduct detrimental to the league.
