Right-hander Jason Grimsley, who gave up six hits and seven runs in two innings against the Giants Wednesday, has pitched himself out of a chance at the starting rotation and maybe even a spot as a long reliever. Grimsley has given up 15 hits and 13 runs in his last 5 1/3 innings. . . . Right fielder Tim Salmon is nursing a stiff neck that gives him more trouble at night than it does during workouts and games. “I can’t believe how much this has messed with my sleep,” he said. “I’m exhausted but I can’t get comfortable enough to get a good night’s sleep.”
