Wolfpack’s Robinson Resigns

North Carolina State Coach Les Robinson resigned today after six years with the school.

Robinson will stay at the school as an associate athletic director, after declining a university offer to continue coaching through 1999.

He had an overall record of 78-98. The Wolfpack was 14-15 this season.

Former Villanova and Nevada Las Vegas coach Rollie Massimino spent Friday at Division II Gannon University in Erie, Pa., interviewing for its coaching job. . . . George Washington Coach Mike Jarvis, who has led the Colonials to four consecutive postseason appearances, signed a contract extension that will keep him at the school through at least 2000. . . . Niagara sophomore guard Ronnell Felton has been diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment in his home state of Virginia. . . . Assistant coach Marty Wilson will move from Pepperdine to San Diego.
