SEASON AT A GLANCE: Phillips, one of the top prospects in the region, was off to a slow start before last week. The Chancellor third baseman, who has committed to Cal State Fullerton, was hitting .242 with one home run before Chatsworth started play last week in the Bishop Gorman tournament in Las Vegas.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Phillips hit five home runs in four games to pace Chatsworth to the tournament title in its division. Phillips had a home run in an 8-2 victory over St. Joseph’s on Thursday, two in a 15-9 victory over Viewmont on Friday and one each in victories over San Gorgonio, 13-1, and Woodriver, 13-0, on Saturday. He raised his slugging percentage from .394 to .725. “The whole team was hitting well,” Phillips said. “I guess I was hitting just a little better.”
