Dennis Scott made a NBA-record 11 three-point shots and Orlando won a franchise-record 58th game Thursday night with a 119-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Brian Shaw, who shared the previous record on 10 three-pointers in a game with Joe Dumars and George McCloud, got the assists on Scott’s 10th and 11th three-pointer of the night.

Scott, who made 11 of 17 from distance and finished with 35 points, tied the record with 9:28 remaining. He received a standing ovation from a crowd of 17,248 when he broke it with 5:18 to go.

He and Shaw embraced before Scott, who’s hit a NBA-record 264 3s this season after leading the Magic with 150 a year ago, left the game to another ovation with 4:40 left.

Shaw set the 3-point mark on April 8, 1993 while with Miami. Detroit’s Dumars tied it in 1994 and McCloud made 10 3s in a game for Dallas earlier this season.

Shaquille O’Neal had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Magic, who built a 20-point lead in the first quarter and were never seriously threatened the rest of the way.

Craig Ehlo led Atlanta with 20 points. Steve Smith added 18 points and Grant Long contributed 10 points and 16 rebounds for the Hawks, who will face Orlando in the first round of the playoffs if they don’t improve on their current seventh-place standing in the Eastern Conference.
