The accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. Friday when a 21-year-old Anaheim driver allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light at Imperial Highway and Gateway Center, Police Sgt. Gary Drlik said.
Carmen Malpica, 57, and her 6-month-old grandson, Marvin Madrid, were both hit and transported by air ambulance to UCI Medical Center in Orange, police said.
Malpica died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, Drlik said. Her grandson was in stable condition.
