Cal Lutheran Beaten by Oskosh, by Gosh, 4-0

Cal Lutheran was cut down by Andy Kimball on Thursday night in a 4-0 defeat to Wisconsin-Oshkosh in an opening-round game of the NCAA Division III baseball championships.

Kimball (11-0), tossed a two-hitter at the Kingsmen (30-13-1), allowing singles to Rich Holmes and Adam Rauch while striking out seven. Kimball has won all 16 decisions in his career, fifth-longest streak in Division III history.

Cal Lutheran is ranked No. 4 by the American Baseball Coaches Assn. Wisconsin-Oshkosh (34-4) is ranked No. 5.

Cal Lutheran’s Andrew Barber (7-3) allowed four earned runs in eight innings while striking out nine and walking one.

The Kingsmen play Rensselaer (29-4) in a loser’s bracket game today at 4 p.m. (PST).
