Some of Orange County’s best high school senior baseball players will gather Tuesday at Glover Stadium in Anaheim for the 29th Kiwanis All-Star Game.

Sonora’s Pat Tellers will coach the North team, assisted by Magnolia’s Manny Rodriguez and Cypress’ Mark Steinert. Calvary Chapel’s Joe Walters will coach the South squad, assisted by Irvine’s Bob Flint and Mater Dei’s Bob Ickes.

Four Orange County softball players were named to the National Softball Coaches Assn. All-American team.

Selected were pitcher Cheryl Longeway (Kennedy High) of Southwestern Louisiana, outfielder Alison Johnsen (Woodbridge) of Arizona, designated hitter Lisa Dacquisto (Ocean View) of Arizona State, and second baseman Nina Lindenberg (Canyon) of Fresno State.
