Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Wins Speedway Event

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event at the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 4,731 Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Riverside’s Steve Lucero was second and Gary Hicks was third. Shawn McConnnell of Brea was fourth in the scratch main and won the eight-lap handicap main.

Gary Ackroyd of Newport Beach was second in the handicap main and Jack Zemke of Paso Robles was third.
