Foothill’s Hoernig in Olympic Trials

Erica Hoernig of Foothill High has qualified for the Olympic trails in track and field for the women’s pole vault exhibition event, the U.S. Track and Field Assn. announced Wednesday.
Hoernig’s qualifying vault of 12 3/4 feet was made at Azusa Pacific during an all-comers meet on May 22. The exhibition event will be this weekend.
Hoernig, who set the county record in the event, was a Southern Section Division II winner. She will attend UCLA this fall.
