She didn’t stay gone for long. . . . Lee was appointed last week to a statewide commission reviewing academic standards. “I’m just thrilled,” said Lee, who taught for 33 years in Ventura. “I hope I can bring a lot to this commission, being a teacher fortunate enough to come from a district with high standards.”
