46.9-Pound Catfish Landed at Irvine Lake
Herbert Beadle must have thought he had seen it all when a giant catfish was brought through the doors of Chapman Animal Hospital.
Fortunately, the veterinarian didn’t have to treat the whiskered monster. He merely had to stand by and watch it tip his live animal scale at 46.9 pounds.
Seems the trip to the vet was necessary because the scale at nearby Irvine Lake was too small. That’s where Wayne Wimer of Anaheim hooked up to the blue catfish, which was landed after a 20-minute battle.
