Woman Killed, 3 Others Hurt in 2-Car Crash
A collision Thursday on the Rice Avenue onramp to the southbound Vetura Freeway in Oxnard left one woman dead and sent three other people to area hospitals, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 12:15 p.m. and involved a Cadillac and a GMC Blazer.
The driver of the Cadillac was able to get out of the car and was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard. His passenger was trapped inside the car, authorities said.
The woman, who was not identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.
The two occupants trapped inside the Blazer were freed by rescue workers.
They were taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura with moderate injuries.
