Cigar’s Streak Hit a Circuit Overload

Share

What happened to Cigar last Saturday? The same thing that happened to most of us on the West Coast. He ran out of power.

In response to Bob Mieszerski’s article about how smooth everything went at Del Mar last Saturday, Mr. Mieszerski obviously didn’t park half a mile away like most of us.

For personal reasons, I told myself a year ago I would stay away from the ponies. It took Cigar to get me back, but it took me three hours to get out of the parking lot.

Del Mar and the Breeders’ Cup? Ha! The people in my cellblock of a parking lot won’t see Del Mar again.

Is Curtis Crayon a cruel joke that The Times is playing on the local thoroughbred community? What are his qualifications to handicap daily races for your paper?

I know there was a hue and cry when The Times recently did away with the consensus picks each day, but the consensus with Mr. Crayon is worse than none at all. He continually picks longshots for his best bet, thus throwing off the consensus totals (he picked Siphon over Cigar in the Pacific Classic as the best bet of the day).

I am no expert at handicapping and depend on sources such as The Times for help when I go to the track. Your continued use of Mr. Crayon shows you just don’t take horse racing seriously.
