Splash Rallies to Tie Detroit, but Loses in Overtime, 6-5

Jason Davis scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Detroit Neon past the Splash, 6-5, in a Continental Indoor Soccer League game Saturday at The Palace in Auburn Hills.

The loss dropped the Splash to 9-6 and into a first-place tie with Sacramento.

The Neon scored once in the first quarter and twice in the second before the Splash answered with a goal by Dale Ervine late in the second quarter.

The Splash pulled to within one goal at 3-2, when Doug Neely scored in the third quarter.

Tim Wittman answered with his second goal for the Neon to push the lead back to 4-2.

The Splash again to cut the lead to one with a goal from Paul Agyemana to end the third quarter.

Martin Chester opened the final quarter with a goal to increase the Neon’s lead to 5-3.

The Splash answered with the final two goals in regulation by Bernie Lilavois and P.J. Polowski.

Splash goalie Ruben Fernandez faced 48 shots and had 25 saves.
