Stovall to Attend Hawaiian School

Former Woodbridge girls’ basketball standout Erin Stovall will attend Honolulu Iolani High School but not play basketball, William Stovall, her father, said Saturday.
William Stovall said the move was made for academic reasons. Woodbridge Coach Pat Quinn said Friday problems with her parents over Stovall, who will be a senior, missing practices had led to the transfer. William Stovall denied a problem.
“Sending my daughter 3,000 miles because of a rift with the coach would be ridiculous,” he said from Hawaii. “Iolani is an outstanding school. It’s a great opportunity.”
Stovall, who will play basketball in college, has narrowed her choice to Virginia, Purdue and Stanford.
Stovall said the family will either live apart during the school year, with his wife and Erin in Hawaii, or the whole family would move. William Stovall Jr. was a junior guard on the Woodbridge boys’ basketball team.
