Colts Give Kicker a New Contract

The Indianapolis Colts signed kicker Cary Blanchard to a three-year, $1.6-million contract. Blanchard, 27, joined the Colts last October as a free agent and was in the final year of a contract that would have paid him the league minimum $196,000. Blanchard, after being released by New Orleans during training camp, was signed four games into last season to replace Mike Cofer, who was released.
