OUTLOOK

It’s hard to have a good season when your offense scores only four touchdowns in 10 games (53 points overall). An offense that struggled so much that the graduated kicker Jude Reyes, who scored 23 of those points, was the most valuable player. But what really bothered Saiz (pronounced SIZE) was watching both offensive and defensive lines pushed around like cotton balls. He also was not happy with the 1995 attitudes. “I thought some of our seniors had poor leadership skills,” Saiz said. “This season we are emphasizing being able to step up and doing what’s expected of you.” On the field, the Coyote linemen will not only look bigger, but they will be stronger following an extensive summer weight program. Gasso has limited experience at quarterback (12 of 39, 191 yards, one touchdown) but should be the starter. McDonald could play if Gasso falters, but Saiz would rather McDonald improve his 271-yard rushing total to help Buena Park end its 11-game losing streak.
