OUTLOOK

The Friars might have one of their best teams in some time. Toner won’t argue, but he won’t go out on a limb, either. Cicero is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country. He passed for 2,360 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior. LaMonda, an all-league selection in 1995, is expected to be one of the best two-way linemen again in the league and county. Reed, another all-league choice last season, caught 19 touchdown passes and 39 overall for 628 yards. Bystedt is another all-league selection who is returning, as is Vollers, who has committed to Notre Dame. Vollers has been switched from the offensive line to defensive tackle.
