Enough already. Los Alamitos, which returns only five starters, has been the subject of a lot of speculation after a four-year run with a record of 50-3-1 and two Southern Section championships. True, the Griffins have a lot of new faces. Still, Coach John Barnes, one of the county’s best, didn’t build a 146-49-6 record on chopped liver. He feels confident in senior quarterback Sean Stein and new receivers. Cypress, meanwhile, returns 10 starters from a disastrous 1-9 season in which they were dumped from playoff contention on the last week of the season, when they had to forfeit two games for using an ineligible player. “We’re better at 20 of 22 positions,” this year, second-year Coach Ted Hovorka said.
