Drivers Hurt When Auto, Truck Collide
Two men were seriously injured when their vehicles collided at an intersection Friday, and investigators are trying to determine which driver is at fault.
About 10:30 a.m., an economy car traveling east on Skypark collided with a pickup truck heading north on Redhill Avenue, causing the truck to roll over once or twice, said Melinda Churchfield, who saw the accident from her office window.
“The white car flew up on the curb,” she said. “I screamed and called 911.”
Police Sgt. Steve Olson said: “We don’t know who blew the red light, but obviously somebody did.”
Oscar Sandoval, 24, of Fountain Valley and Terry Angeles, 49, of Costa Mesa were transported to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
Angeles, who was driving the car, was in critical condition Friday night.
Sandoval, the truck driver, was in stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
