Orange Lutheran senior quarterback Nick Odenath led the Lancers to a 69-6 rout of Acton Vasquez Saturday night in front of 3,000 fans at Brea Olinda Stadium.

Odenath was 11 of 15 for 312 yards, including touchdown passes of 49, 27, 26, and 54 yards. He also rushed for an 18-yard touchdown before giving way to Justin Smith in the third quarter.

The Lancers (4-0) scored less than two minutes into the game when transfer student Danny Monarch intercepted a Joel Roberson pass and returned it 45 yards for the score.

Orange Lutheran’s running game also contributed to the victory with Pat Sims, Travis Freeman, Matt Slane and Dee Meza all scoring.

In his fourth season as the Lancers’ head coach, Jim Kunau says his team has been improving and that their balanced offensive attack has been the key. “We’ve had great balance on offense with Freeman at running back, Mike Crawford at wide receiver and Tim Smith in both positions helping out.”

Crawford had two touchdown receptions on the night, 27 and 54 yards respectively, and Smith caught two touchdown passes, one for 49 yards and the other for 26.
